Gwared calls upon BCF's sage wisdom, if I can give a brief synopsis of my situation-
1) Had a 929 fireblade which I sold last week. Got fed up of the ridiculous performance and bad fuel economy.
2) Got a CB600F instead, thought it would do me some good to take biking back to basics for a year or so.
3) Now miss the fireblade a huge amount and (sort of) want to replace it. To hell with the ridiculous performance and bad fuel economy.
4) SO! I found this 2003 954 Fireblade for sale, here's the link - https://belfast.gumtree.com/belfast/30/54948330.html
I know the guy will take £3000 for her, the bike is in great condition, BUT has no proof of 16000 mile service (ie valve clearances) and it has mismatched tyres [a roadsmart on the back and bt014 on the front ]
Do you guys think £3000 is a reasonable price though?
I can whip out the haynes and do the valve clearance check myself probably, but replacing shims would be a step too far... |

3k is a good price for a decent 954.. looking at near 3.3k for a minter.
under 3k and you'd be looing at the more tatty creatures but nothing a bit of tlc couldnt fix if the underneath is good
will be in the market for one myself soon, keep talking myself out of spending the money tho.. ____________________ CBR954RR - Daily toy

Yeah I was thinking it was a decent price too, although I am ready for anybody to intervene and say it's overpriced.
The bike itself seems good, no crash damage, and routine servicing is essentially free if you do it yourself (oil and filters aside...).
Funny enough, the money does put me off a bit too...but being 22, in final year of uni, and single is the perfect storm of awesome bike buying potential |
