Hi,
I bought the following socket and attached it to my bike, but cracked the fuse holder yesterday and the fuse fell out somewhere. I'm not sure what ampage fuse to use in replacing it? Can anyone help? I'll mainly use it for charging my mobile probably, maybe a small light if I go camping, but unlikely.

1 to 5 Amp short glass fuse will do.

Does the type of fuse matter? Glass or blade? I have to get a new inline fuse holder anyway.

Get a in-line blade fuse holder as the blade fuses are easy to get on the road, and then use a 5 amp purple blade fuse, this is more than enough for what will use the socket and will provide protection from faults.

I have just fitted a socket to my bike. It had a 5amp fuse in but it blew after 5 seconds of running my 12v compressor so I've put a 10amp fuse in now and all is fine.

Primarily I'll be using a GPS device which has a 1.5amp fuse in the plug anyway.
