Can you get proper HD puncture repair patches (and glue) for off road bikes? Or do people just use a normal push bike one?!!?

i.e. for TUBED tyres!

The £2.95 ones from Wemoto worked extremely well I bought 3 kits gave one away to somebody who needed one. (the instructions are in Chinese though).

ALL my patches held through Siberia and Mongolia, they were all torn off and replaced in Tynda though to a higher standard, heh my tubes were so full of holes that they were more patches than tubes!

I needed to buy more patches in Irkutsk and UB and I used some big ass car ones that I cut down with scissors.

One of these? (gone up a little now)

Are the patches a lot thicker/tougher than pushbike ones or just bigger?

I'd say the patches are a bit thicker as well as having bigger ones.
Due to inexperienced tyre changing, some of my tubes have a few too many patches Smile, but still doing fine.

I THINK they are thicker, but I've not repaired a push bike tube since 1991 but I remember the patches for push bike tubes being really thin while these are at least 2.5- 3mm thick
