Hi

If they know what they are doing then yes. Engine note at idle is noticeably different (harsher at idle, smoother from about 2500rpm, then harsher again when the valve opens at high revs. And beyond that poking around under the tank they will see things.

Recently where I live (Bristol) the police have taken a roadside Dyno, whacked it there and flagged down various mopeds and 'L' Plated vehicles and dyno'd them there and then.

Unless that happens to you, you'll be fine. Thumbs Up.

I doubt a diesel astra is sub 7.5 seconds to 60....well not a police spec one anyway. Unrestricted full power 125s are still quicker than alot of cages to 60. They just feel dog slow once you ridden anything bigger....

0 to 60 times mean almost nothing. Most bikes are fast up to 60. It's what's after that and rolling acceleration that counts. The only time you're going to be going 0 to 60 is at traffic lights.

The astras are quicker than an RS125.

Your average 17 year old CBT rider isn't a Rossi, so won't be able to get away from a trained bloke in an Astra Diesel on the roads too quickly.

Although 0-60 "mean almost nothing" its the yardstick by which most vehicles are measured. So if a vehicle does a good 0-60 it will also more than likely also do a good 30-70 as well....so I would imagine an diesel astra would still get its arse handed to it by a derestricted 125. Its also to the NSL on single carriageways...

look, ive got a de-restricted nsr and on anything except a motorway it will kill most little cars, diesel astras are NOT a problem at all.

was racing around a country road the other day and keeping up with a bmw 330i
mate deisel astras will get dropped by rs125s lol

kept up with a 2l turbo diesel on a dual carridge way up to bout 90mph aswell

If they are in an Astra diesel then they are probably not a trained driver. Maybe just a couple of hours check to ensure they aren't too lethal at legal speeds.

RS is pretty quick for a 125, but bikes lose out as speeds increase. The RS might get to 80 quicker from zero but suspect if starting from (say) 50 even something like a diesel Astra will get to 80 quicker.

Yep in a drag race the bike will win, but thats just because it will get to 40 quicker. Coming off a roundabout at 50 and accelerating the car will keep up no problem.
