1st Time at Red Marley 2010

This coming Bank Holiday Monday i will be visiting the hill climb. Shame they didn't allow camping for general public as i might of made a weekend of it.
Looks like the weather will be behaving itself for Monday at least.

Ta Mr Nick. But the wheels are already in motion for a clutch change on Sunday. I did send a letter to John [someobody] a Marley organiser a few months ago asking if there was a chance i could sneak a paid for tent in the paddock..never got a reply. (don't ask, don't get..well didn't get )

Virus John did make an offer to join his RAT chaps..i declined as it may be a little too 'adult' for me and my impressionable daughter

Just hope it stays dry for the run down and back.

The weather held out on the run down. We ate bananas in Bridgenorth. (my daughter was bemused until i told her thats what bikers do...we eat bananas wherever we damm like )

Lovely twisty roads and Shropshire has nice tarmac compared to the crap i've recently been riding on.

We arrived in time to see the 1st races. Saw an absolute vile machine in the bike park and knew Virus(John) was also there.
The bike park was 'soft' shall we say but they supplied pucks

Then the 1st of the hillwalks. Had a wander around and went into the paddock area to try and offload our helmets onto Badger...He must of gone to ground as we never did find him. Virus couldn't find him either...i suspect he had a 'special' area for himself.

Went up the hill and ate some cake watching the loonies thunder by. Chap who i'd seen at the start and winked at me did very well (#94 Andy Sutton..good chin hair)

Gotta say the smell and sounds of these vicious machines was bloody great. #114 on a '66 ?(daughter has program) was on fire and powered himself flawlessly to victory in all the heats i saw.

Caught up with John in the bike park(nice bloke) and he showed me his custom RAT clutch lever(bent it and left it). He also said my bike was too clean. I on the other hand was sobbing at the state of my machine.

We overtook all the sportbikes on the road out of Great Whitley( i suspect they cost more to fix if dropped due to muddy roads)

And in no time we were back home, with only 1 stop for fuel..well only had a fiver so thats what went in.

A great day out and one i will repeat again.
