Rust

I've checked other threads but nothing is very specific to flaky rust. I use Autosol for most of the rust, and ACF50 for the protection.

Questions I've got:

1. Is it worth using a grinding stone bit to take the rest off, and if so do you know of any big stones? (I've got a 'small' rust removal set that is almost worn already)

2. Is there certain sand/glass paper that is great for rust?

3. I want to use the drill to take the rust off, any products you could point me to?

Wire brush on a drill is one quick and easy way. Will scratch it up though, so only use if youre priming and repainting the area.

ANTOX 71E Plus.

It is a paste that we use at work to remove the 'burn' off welds on ST/ST.

I've used it on my exhaust after a few months of it having dripping oil on it from a broken case. I must say it is the easiest bit of polishing I have ever done.

Directions of use:

Put kettle on,
Put paste on pusty/dirty bit
Drink tea, have wank, go for a poo, (Whatever you do in 15mins)
Wash off with water, (then wash some more)
Stand back and laugh at people spending hours with autosol.

If it is going on paint it will remove the paint too. And if you leave it on too long, it will 'yellow' the area, but it can be left on for upto 30mins.

If you are trying to use a grind stone it will look out of place on something shiny, so get a 3m stick on pad for a grinder, they cost about £3 for 10 and save time when doing loads of things, and if you keep the pad flat it makes an almost mirror finish, so autosol will then remove the minor scratches.
