hi i am very new to this sort of thing but i have been told you are very helpful so hear go,s i have a 1991 zephyr750 i have changed my air filters to k&n cones but i need to re jet has anyone got an idea of the size of jets i need .i am also a very ameature mechanic but i try Laughing

as a rough rule of thumb go 25% bigger. But be prepared to have to fiddle around.

IE if you have 100 mains stock, go for 125s as a starting point.

Idle jet will probably be fine, but you may need to turn them out slightly more for a good idle.

rough tuning guide:

1) get the right main jet-one that lets the engine operate at full throttle in any gear and give good acceleration and power.

2) Adjust the needles to adjust part throttle operation ie if it stumbles or hesitates on a part throttle and not at full throttle. Youll find a little clip on the needles. If you move the needle more toward the top (the flat end) thats leaner, move them toward the bottom (the pointy end) thats richer.

3) adjust the idle screws for a good idle.

No point wasting your time adjusting the needles until you have the right main jets.
