Decide while its off the road i'll do all the little jobs I have put off.

So here we go on step one, Shortening the exhaust.

This is what it was like, as you can see it looks like i stole a cannon off the set of Pirates of the Caribbean.

I took it off and put the standard zorst on, as the assessor was coming out to view the bike after the accident.

So take the link pipe off and as you can see, its huge

1st job is to drill out the rivets, Taking my time not to snap the bits.

(Photobucket wont rotate this Mad)

Once the straps removed i can pull the casing off and the inner falls out.

Mark how much i want to cut off, I want 13" so mark it all around with a sharpie then tape to get a half decent line. Making sure to measure 3 time just to check. Thumbs Up

Cut with a mini grinder with a very fine blade.

Then cut the baffle to match.

Then mark your new holes for the rivets and cut the wadding. Didn't get pictures of this as i was covered in shite.

Check it all fits nicely

Check new rivets fit, i couldn't find any Stainless rivets but found some ally ones. Only problem i could think of is the discoloration and they come loose with heat and time. But if that dose happen ill stick some SS ones in.

All back together and waiting to fit. Should look much better.

All in it didn't take too long, about 3 hours with tea brakes and talking to friends who came over to drop stuff off. And with no prior riveting experience i think i did quite well.

Now time to fix the Bandit. Thumbs Up

Good job. Did you purposely focus the camera on "Durex" or was it an accident Laughing

I used bosh drill bits and a 12v cordless and drilled out the middle. Then if theres a bit still left in, I punched it out with a punch. Thumbs Up
