Hi guys

Just bought my first (powered!) bike - a Gilera Cougar (or Coguar depending how you spell it!) 125.

Having driven 'cages' for the last seven years I've decided that I fancy something more liberating for the commute to work (5 miles) and the commute to my garage (15 miles).

Paid £300 for the bike - which I think is a steal - having to learn how to work on it but of course it's easy compared to a car!

Still need to do the CBT and get the rest of the kit - I'm a large guy so am not subjecting people to the sight of me in leathers - textiles all the way!

Here's to many years of biking! (I think the bug will bite hard!)

Not at present - it's not clean enough yet!

except it's Green on Cream rather than Black...

Will post some pictures as soon as I can get it ready for showing Laughing - it is very tidy though, typical Italian chrome (mostly gone!) but otherwise good...

Not my cup of tea, but for £300 if it's road legal you've had a good buy! Thumbs Up

Got one of those 2 months ago for £500 in fair condition .Only had to work on carburettor before taking it on the road.In overall im satisified with it.I think its good "entry level " cruiser,turns many heads as well which is funny given its value. Laughing .So far i've only been using it to commute to Uni and work but when i took it on the ring road for the first time i could hardly get about 50mph out of it (thats guess as my speedo aint workin which is common issue for most of these)

Always check your speedo with sat nav. Even working speedo can be off, thus show wrong speed.
Use sat nav and try to calibrate your speedometer or just remember that when it shows 40mph you are doing 33mph etc.
