Having just found this when having the NSR apart

I am now thinking about powder coating or nylon dipping the frame, having never dealt with either before I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on pros and cons of each method and any idea of the cost involved?

all advice gratefully received Thumbs Up

You'll need to get it shot blasted too.

Get that done then you can decide whether to get it coated.

Nylon is meant to be a bit better at chip resistance as it is more flexible than powder coat.

You could also paint it in hammerite.

I would personally go for powder coating as it's easiest and cheapest to get done around here.
