Hornet 250 downpipes Restoration

Hornet's downpipes were starting to look abit rusty and seeing as the 250 downpipes are different from the 600's (and replacements usually need to be custom made) i thought i better look after them.

Didnt have no trouble removing the pipes luckily.

So sandblasted 2 of the pipes down and took a quick comparison pic

Then got the rest sandblasted.

After many many layers of heat proof paint put them back on and looking much better.

Nice work but for me the hornet needs to have shiny pipes otherwise it just looks too dull. BUt to each his own.

Cheers, would love to have shiny pipes but think keeping them shiny with riding in the rain and all would be a hell of a job .


Sorry my sandblaster isn't good enough for you matt.
The sand needs replacing i know, still better than doing it by hand.

I would've preferred the rust option

All about shiny pipes unless you have a black bike.

And keeping them nice and shiny through rain is piss easy.

Bit of polish once a week, takes 5 minutes and done. Should be hosing it down once a week to keep it awesomely tidy. Through winter anyways. At least once.
