Hey all..
Been offered a few bikes since i moved to germany...
Now - bikes are pretty much all stupidly priced over here compaired to england, so im pretty limited...
First..
1996 DR800 Big.. 1000 euro
good cond.. 1 owner from new.. - Green/turqoise color.. Complete with Där panniers (Like the charlie/ewan bmw type ones), spare set of brand new mitas tyres + spare carbs. - *Has not been used in 5 years, has been sat in his garage covered in dust.* - obviously no mot or anything, unsure if it runs as yet, but he will check.
2nd
1994 KLX 650 (Year unknown as yet - waiting for more details) 1000 euro
2 year mot, serviced before pickup (home service), black + Blue color. brand new BT45s (Awaiting more details...)
3rd.
1987 XR600R - 999 euro
braided lines, brand new semi tyres, white/red.. He says there is a slight ammount of oil on the cylinder head after use, but it ISNT dripping. 14 months mot.
Now, the bike will be used for some offroading (I live surrounded by fields, and we can use them at any time (One of the ways to the surrounding villages), it will also be used to travel back to england every so often.... (around 18-19 hours drive to my rents house from here)
for me.. id love the dr800.. big, comfy, huge tank... but i really dont know anything about them.. and could it be a money pit, as its been sat 5 years...? - but then i dont know how well it would do messing about on the fields. ?

Well I had 2 KLX650's. Good reliable bikes. Plenty of go but not stupid. Fairly comfortable but I did have a more padded seat i think. Not too bad off road I suppose. Engine is different from the KLR so don't worry about the "doohickey" going or anything like that. They look good too, USD forks, etc etc.. Sorry, not a very technical review but I'd say it's capable of doing everything pretty well/ok. Is it the C version I take it? or the R.. the R is the off-road version with a shorter swingarm and 18" rear and well as a bit more power I think. |
