anyone know about shower pumps? (plumbers!!)

im going to be fitting one to a hot water supply. it needs to be a negative head pump and is only needed for the hot. the cold is mains pressure.

now i can get a stuart turner pump for about £325
or i can get one by Mabis, which i was told is manufactured by watermill (which is now actually owned by grundfos) and i know grundfos are good. that is a positive head pump for £99 but with a negative head conversion kit for £50. so £150 all in.

the stuart turner is a single pump. the Mabis is a twin.

so if i go for the cheaper twin pump, is there any problem is having a very low pressure hot supply and a mains pressure cold supply? would this cause an unbalance in the pump as it isnt variable impellers or would it run fine?

On any shower pumps I've seen, it always says that they shouldn't be mains fed. They normally state that they should be balanced tank feeds. I think the max inlet pressure the manufactures state is less then mains pressure.

If you have a cold water tank could you not run a feed down to the twin impeller pump so you've got balanced feeds.
