Hi i have a yamaha rxs ( not on the road until im 17 so no rush as im not 17 for 6 months ) but it was originally leaking petrol. Took the carb off and cleaned it out. Checked its all working and it seems to be all as it should ( carb ). Bike starts when left for a few days , once and only once , for a few seconds. Now after that i tried putting petrol into the spark plug and starting it. Worked 3 times out of 3 first kick for a few seconds( until it ran out of petrol). Does anyone know what this means? or anything i can do. Less money required the happier boy i am haha. Many thanks Barney!

Most likely the float height isn't correct. What did the spark plug look like? Nice tan end or maybe blackened?

If you turn the engine over a few times, is petrol getting through? Could possibly be a blockage from the fuel tank.
