I've bought some of the following bullet connectors and have a quick question. Probably stupid but I've not come across them before! Do you crimp through the insulation? |

You will need the correct crimping tool. Each one should be given two crimps, one to trap the bared end of the wire, one to trap the insulation.
If you squeeze them with pliers they WILL come off.
The best crimping tool is a ratchet one that does both crimps at once but they are expensive (about £15).
You can buy a cheap, pressed steel crimping tool from any hardware store for a couple of quid. They are not very good quality and it's tricky to squeeze hard enough with them to get a proper crimp but they are better than pliers. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I was very impressed with my friends ratcheted crimping tool. I got a cheap one from MachineMart and it id the job ok-ish, but was a bit shit, and hurt my hands trying to squeeze hard enough.
With the proper ones it's just "clunk" and you know those suckers aren't going anywhere! ____________________
