Chain snapped on my FZS600 (2002) so thought I should be able to change it myself. Never had to do it before so thought I'd have a look in the good old haynes and it's telling me I need to remove the swing arm???
Is this because the factory chain is an endless chain or is there another reason I'm over looking??

You'd be hard pushed to buy an endless chain these days, you used to get the choice when buying them mail order.

Nowadays you get them split with a rivet link so no need to remove the swing arm.

Yes a chain riveting tool if it's a soft link type or pliers and patience if it's a split link. Should be a soft link if it's a bigger engined bike. Thumbs Up

I have used this and it's good: https://www.bitzforbikes.co.uk/Chain_Cutter_and_Riveting_Tool.-ref-10139-515-293.html

Saying that, I have seen someone use a pair of hammers but I wouldn't. Shocked
