I'm wanting to get back on a single as a second bike. currently undecided as to what i'm wanting, so shower me with offers and i'll see what i can do as i have a bit of cash sitting around at the moment.

want something either supermoto or offroad, and if it is an SM i want a pair of wheels to go with, and preferably 400cc or above.

probably willing to spend about £1800

4 stroke only unless its particularly awesome, and road legal.

things i've considered:

> KTM dukes
> KTM 520 EXC
> KTM 400's
> KTM 640s

mainly KTMs as you can see, but those seem to be whats available in that price limit.

go.

It sounds like you need a 2 stroke Gas Gas. As soon as you buy one you will instantly become awsome and every picture people take of you will also be awsome

You make it sound like you think 2 stokes are unrelieable Question

Stay away from the 4 stroke enduro bikes then, generally worse than 2 strokes for needing work.

2 strokes ain't so bad unless you buy a really highly strung race bike, even then.. for all it is to whip the head off and change the rings/pison etc piss easy.. especially in comparison to faffing about with 4T engines, timing/chain/cams/valves etc..

its a 520 actually.
And as far as maintenance is concerned, other than valve clearances and oil changes surely theres not much more to it? Unless im pretty far wrong.

Tbh i much prefer working on 4 stroke engines. I build the things fairly often albeit diesels. And lets be honest. Engines are simple, so its only possible for something simple to go wrong.

And if all else fails and im stumped. I have a nicely famous ktm expert by the name of swampy less than 3 miles away.
