I got my GSXR 400 two years ago now. At the time I was 20 years old, so the bike was a fairly decent size for me, being a first 'big' bike.

The girl was off the road more than she was on, due to the famous fuelling problems that comes with the GSXR 400's. Not having a second bike to ride, this became very frustrating at times. I do regret not doing that little bit more research before buying, but some of us just learn the hard way I guess.

Recently I was able to get the bike back on the road which I was seriously chuffed about. I didn't realise how much I'd grown since I first sat on the bike though, not just outwards, but upwards too. The back ache and the cringing when the suspension clunked going over bumps was becoming too much to ignore. So it wasn't long before I started to look for a new bike.

Before I started looking at the GSXR 400 I had my sights set towards a SV 650, which at the time I started to think was a little too ambitious, and wanted to start on something a little smaller.

I moved in with g/f and her flat mate not long ago. The flat mate has an SV so that gave me the chance to ask all the questions I wanted to know about owning one.
Going out for rides with him as well was able to give me a bit more of an idea of what it was like on the road.

Not long after looking for a SV that I could part/ex with that I found one that seemed to be a good deal. So I arranged to go for a viewing, taking the g/f and flat mate along. The bike looked, sounded and felt fine. The mileage was low and everything seemed kosher, so the deal was set.

We went again on the following weekend and took a very scenic route home, which gave me the chance to get used to the bike properly.

I only had chance to get a few pictures that were taken at one of the pubs on the way home.
