Why the fuck did you bring this one up?
You know I will blow my cover and get hammered by the karma komputer....

I had to call Garmin the other day to sort out a fault with 'their' Service Exchange unit which I just had returned to me after weeks of phaphing about with factory reset bullshit. They sent me another unit but it has no mapping data.

I got 5 mins of shite muzik inter-spunked with,
"Were are experiencing a high number of calls but your call is important to us"

Every time I am forced to wait I give who ever answers both fucking barrels for keeping me waiting like a dick.

I do not care if it's not their fault. It fukin' is, coz they agree to do it. I am hoping my continued haranguing of tele-folk will discourage corporate fat-cats/cnuts from relying on call scenters to thwart/fend off criticism/customer help.

I was told that 'I' need to install the mapping via my PC. My arse I do they come from the factory pre-loaded and the 1st exchange they sent me had all the map data on. It just wouldn't work for more than 30 mins before crashing.

I bet this has hurt my blobs.... Mad

Not many things annoy me but automated call systems are at the top of the list along with being transferred back and fourth to the wrong departments.

What the fuck happened to just picking up the phone and sorting out your problem?

BT are the worst cunts in the world for it, they think they've devised the ultimate automated system, they think they're so clever that they've got an automated response or option for any possible kind of problem and 9 times out of 10, it's not on there and you find yourself having to press some random number, in the hope that you might just get through to a human, even if it is in the fucking stationary department.

I have to agree with the BT systems, don't find DVLA that bad.. Maybe us Welshies get better service Mr. Green

But bt home internet et al. They take the piss, was on the phone for about 1hr 30mins once waiting. Then finally got through and they say, oh you have the wrong department, i'll transfer you....to india... So then I spend the next two hours failing to understand what the hell they are going on about. Impossible situation.

Who's bright idea was it to put a strong indian accent on the help desk? Just No!

O2 are famously crap at answering their calls too, my record was 49mins listening to the rubbish music then getting cut off and going through it all over again.

I hate automated systems, I just refuse to listen to them, I keep pressing the number 1 until a human appears then i'm transfered quickly from there. Much easier.

Me too.

I shun automated systems on the telephone, they give me the creeps any by refering to themselves as 'I' or 'we'. I just mash the buttons with my elbows until a human answers.

Agreed about BT, they are shockingly bad. Scottish Power are bad too, they have a payment line which just sucks. (Do it online.) Telewest used to have a voice recognition system, it asked you to speak your customer account number, that was as far as you could get with it as it never understood.

What is particularly is when you do get through and its some preprogrammed troll in India. You have to fight to make yourself understood, after much too'ing and fro'ing they eventually divest themselves of any responsibility and say there equipment isn't faulty. Had this with Talk Talk, no phone worked, no dial tone. Not complicated, no engineering nous required, answer: you're telephone is faulty as I cannot find a fault on the line. What, all 5 telephones? Including the new one you told us to buy?

Its just part of modern life now, a shit part mind...

Wink

Thumbs Up

its quite amazing, even when I am calling to give them money it can take a day to get through, apparently in the section that deals with PAYE/NIC for companies there is only 1 phone!!!
