[edit]Unfortunately the original plan is out thanks to the seller who promised me it was mine selling to someone else Rolling Eyes.

However for other reasons I'll now be going from Reading to Rochdale area in my van.
Leaving on Sunday, probably stopping at enduroland. Coming back Wednesday evening. If anyone needs a bike or other stuff transferring along this vague route give me a shout and I'll see what I can do - looking for a contribution to fuel etc, but probably work out cheaper than other options.
Possibility of storage in Reading, or onward delivery depending on where.

[/edit]
I’m tempted to get something that would need a van trip to York from Reading.
However once I’ve paid for 400 miles worth of fuel and had a day’s worth of travelling, it’s probably not going to justify the reasonably good price/convenient package I’d be getting.

So, does anyone need anything transporting which would fit into a trip from Reading to York and back. Looking to share fuel money, but otherwise I’ll do the rest. Just looking to see if it'd be feasible at the moment.

Should have space for two or possibly three bikes or a load of ‘stuff’. Have ramp, tie downs etc and have plenty of experience transporting bikes.

I recently had a bike collected from Glasgow and delivered to me in Birmingham.

I used a website called Shiply which acts like a reverse ebay auction. You post details of the job - item(s) concerned, dates of collection/delivery (though you'll get better quotes if you're flexible) and collection/delivery postcodes.

Once you've added your details, various companies bid for the work and they keep on undercutting each other. They have feedback scores like ebay so you get the gist of how well they work. They also describe what they carry and what they are insured for. First bid I had was £600 which caused much hilarity, but I ended up paying £113 - would have been less if I had more time to wait as I was getting lower bids.

Not all will be dedicated bike couriers - mine wasn't but I could see that he had carried bikes and I was chuffed with the service (he used mattresses to cushion either side of the bike lol). I did like the look of one motorcycle courier, but I couldn't be here for collection as he did set runs to places on certain days unfortunately.

Try it and see, you don't need to accept any of the quotes. It only costs if you accept a bid as you have to pay a 10% deposit through the site with the rest payable on delivery.

Already listed on there - but got me thinking that I could possibly try getting a 'job' or two on there to make a bit of money back.

Incidentally, if anyone is interested, am flexible about when, providing it's a weekend anyway Smile.

I may be interested, My NSR is in Lincolnshire, and if it could be taken to Reading that'd be halfway.

Theres a YZF750 in Bristol I'm interested in, if that sale goes ahead then I could get a friend to pick both the NSR and YZF up in one trip (plymouth to Lincolnshire is a bit far as just a favour, reading's a lot more manageable)

So yeah, if the sale goes through, and trailer friend is free at the right time then I might be interested.

Yea, should be able to do Lincolnshire ok - what sort of time scale for when you know if you've want to do it?

Unsolicited advertising of services for a fee. Does it merit a "spam" rating? Thinking
