04 R6 - Frame bolt QU

Hi,

I have never been able to fit a frame slider to the RHS of my bike (other than a wee plastic screw in one's) & I'm not prepared to but fairing.

Now, this is the second pair of 03-05 frame sliders I have purchased only to find the exact same problem; The RHS connecting cylinder is too large in diameter (to slot into the frame).

SO - I've rasped/filled the fukker down ( see pic).

BUT, where it is supposed to slot into on the bike frame has a metal cylinder with a hole in it that prevents me from pushing this slider flush - thus the fairing wont fit back on.

My QU - should that cylinder (see frame pic) come out? If so how on earth? It very wedged

Hi, When you ordered them was you asked for a frame number etc? also, is it possible your getting them mixed up?
If they're official yamaha ones then they should fit without problems.

No, these are not official Yamaha. Wasn't asked for frame number.
Guess most after-market ones are based on a frame that is not this!

BUT, they should not state 03-05 if clearly they are not going to fit all modles.

However, it will fit if I can get that cyliner out of the frame (seems like a perm ficture to me tho)

No, not got them mized up. Pretty certain, LHS fits like a dream as did the last paid I bought (completly different make but 03-05).

Tried them the other way around? And theres 2 types of your bike, infact up untill recent they are still making your model in america along with the thundercat.

Best bet is get yourself over to the R6 forum and ask about frame differences and such. I havent dealt with your model alot so i can't say for certain.
