too far?
possibly the shotgun mines you can buy, or wiring the frame to a live spare battery.
Have contemplated wiring "thor" (a 1 farad capacitor some physicists i know built) up as a fake can and leaving it as a trap somewhere
but remember it is you who is most likely to trigger any offensive trap. ____________________ "intelligent inattention is preferable to unintelligent tinkering"

Shotgun mines are great, scares the shit out of them at 3am, wakes the whole street and with a bit of luck the lowlife scum think they are being shot at and will never come near again.
I got one here.
When i do feel the need to lock the bike more i use an oxford boss disk lock, a cable lock and a monster of a padlock with chain that goes round swinging arm and through back wheel before being covered by one of the panniers so would be a real bastard to cut off Also has an alarm fitted and above all it is a pan european so although the parts sell well for good money it would take 6 blokes to lift the friggin thing into a van with the locks on it or 3 to push it in up a ramp ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I use an Almax Chain with a closed shackle squire lock and hardie ground anchor.
The chain and lock are 100% bolt cutter proof, and sledge/wedge hammer proof. Even the hydraulic cutters can't get through it.
I thread the chain through my wheel and a hole in the swingarm that my bike has.
My garage door lock is probably quite pathetic tbh, but once they enter the garage it's far from mission accomplished.
They could unscrew my back wheel, and cut through the swing arm, but doing all that and opening a locked garage seems quite a task tbh... One that couldn't be done very quietley anyway.
I'd soon shout out the window if I heard anything and see them scurry back over the fence.
This IMO is going a bit far

The again if you have the room and the cash maybe not a too bad investment. They start at 1.7k though and that's a very small one...

Electric shock, glass on top of all walls, spikey fencing, ground anchor, screamer alarm, datatool alarm, microchip, big dog, couple of fat chains, disk lock, cover, shed...erm I think that's everything covered. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

if you hear them...... dont turn on the light, or shout at them ..... now you have the advantage, cos they dont know your after them!
it gives you time to tool-up and give them a suprise they will NEVER forget .
or you could phone the police and let them with thier indifference deal with it about half an hour to late ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |
