I'm after a 2 season (minimum) sleeping bag, warm enough for uk camping through summer and late autumn, with as small a pack size as possible. Weight isnt as big an issue, but lighter than 1.5 kg would be a bonus, and its got to be long enough for someone 6ft 1 ish.

Whats your recommendation?

Budget, 30 - 50 quid Mr. Green

packs smaller than a loaf of bread with the compression sack, I've used it in summer fine, last time I used it we had 5inches of snow overnight and I was nice and toasty.

Thumbs Up

Snugpak and Coleman have the best rep... but a lot of ultra small pack size bags are only summer bags with a comfort temperature in double figures.

Any two season down bag used with a silk liner (adds another season and can be used to kip on top of the bag if it is too hot) is a good compromise.

I do some alpine wild camping so prefer a decent Vango three season bag with the silk liner, this covers the trip there and the below zero night time temperatures on the trails... but it's still a big pack size for most.

I'd recommend Snugpack, think mine's a Kestrel, packs away tiny but has a temperature range of down to 0 or -5 degrees, it's too warm to use indoors!

They are selling very small sleeping bags in Tesco just now.

I dont know much about them, specs, sizes, etc but they are very small when rolled up.

They are about half the size of my own sleeping bag (and I thought that was small).
