Bit Confused - Thermistor

Ok, basically... The temperature Sender (Thermistor according to genuine aprilia parts) has become unstuck to the bit its need to be attached to. The latch type mechanism broke off and became a gaffa tape jobby. This was pretty much melted and I don't want to risk any future fires, so no more gaffa tape.

There's 2 parts however, the terminal cap, and the thermistor. I dunno If I need one or both :S It simply won't attach to where it needs to be but works. So I was thinking just the terminal cap?

I could ring the website in the morning but I figured you lovely bunch could give me a clue. It's probably a very simple question

I think you'll find that part number 18 "terminal cap" is just a rubber cap to keep the terminal clean & has nothing to do with how it attaches

have a look at the end of the wire to see if the crimp on terminal has snapped off or if the bit that it attaches to on top of the thermisor has broke

a photo of it would be a help
