'Yet another 'What Bike' thread'!

I've currently got a CBR600f (hai T0MMY). First sportsbike, great all-rounder.

I am, however, a little bit of a shortarse (5'7") and am finding it hard going, especially on the wrists, both on the commute and for longer journeys.

Given that I'm not getting any younger, I'm pondering the purchase of a commuter/all-rounder in addition. (that's not a CB500- I've got one but don't get on with it, tbh.)

Going on with the 'not getting any younger' theme, I handed over what's left of my virility and looks to a nice bloke at a BMW dealer and took an F800GS out for a spin. I was pleasantly surprised- comfy, sure-footed and quite happy to pick it's skirts up and get to the ton without any drama. I'd want a taller screen and dropping the rear by 6" (whether a lower seat or a suspension adjustment) if I were to pick one up, though.

What it's shown, however, is that I (and my back, knees and wrists) really like the riding position- can the BCF massive suggest some other bikes that might fit the bill and worth tracking down for a test ride? I'm easy in terms of engine size/type, but I do harbour pretensions of one day taking whatever it is overland one day, so that's kind of the filter.

Ta!

Rich

silky666: He rode amazingly well considering his bike is the weight of a small van and had slicks on.
