Bike Friendly Stops - Scotland

Having seen lots of posts in this part of the forum for tours of Scotland, I'm getting itchy feet for a bit of a run. Unfortunately due to home commitments I was thinking of days out rather than overnight trips.
Does anyone have some suggestions for 'Bike Friendly' stop offs they have found on their travels to help me arrange routes as appropriate? My tank range is pretty low and my max cruise speed is closer to 50 than 70 so the more opportunities to stretch the legs and get fuel the better.
Doesn't have to be all highlands either, I'm happy with a bimble down round the borders.

On the Borders, Hermitage is well worth a look at - it's the most bizzarely striking castle you'll like ever see. Worth popping it at the Tibbie Shiels Inn at St Mary's Loch for a pint - they even have a campsite, if you fancy more than one. Dryhope tower is nearby, and well worth having a poke around.

Up at St Boswells, the Buccleuh (sp?) Arms does stunning food and is very biker friendly, being run by a biker.

Weirdly, just south of Edinburgh there's a Garden Centre with Buttefly and Insect World attached - that was a fantastic couple of hours - but do not wear your bike gear inside - it is massively hot.

Further north, there's Stirling and St Andrews, both worth a visit.

Where are you in Scotland? (I am assuming somewhere near Glasgow Smile

). How about a run up to Tyndrum, the Green Welly, a well known biker's rest area. You can get a decent brew there and there are also a few shops there and conveniently it is also a petrol station.
If you are in or near Glasgow you could ride up the A82 along west side of Loch Lomond and return via A84 and detour through the Trossacs. Something like this route
