Had an accident the other day. I'm ok, but as it was a sunny day it was a miracle I didn't have my (over the legal limit) tinted visor on when it happened. Just wondered if anyone's had a non-fault accident yet been blamed on the grounds that their tinted visor reduced their vision?

i havent, but how many people wear sunglasses whilst driving cars?

ive got a fully tinted visor on one helmet and iridium silver on another (use it at night too its not that bad at all) and there really shouldnt be a problem with them during the daytime sensibly.

obviously if its a night time accident thats a different story.

They wouldn't take your lid for evidence, so how would they know that it was an illegal visor? Wink

If you could prove it wasnt dangerous, ie it was a bright sunny day I doubt there is much you could do.

If it was midnight and you were wearing a dark race vidor that would fuck you in the ass.

Thats if anyone noticed it anyway.

When I use my dark race visor I always have my clear one on me, so if I do get pulled I can look intelligent to a police officer that if it did get dark I could sort it.

No one has been blamed for this as far as I can tell, however a number of lawyers have been after case evidence where low and blinding sunlight is a contributory factor in motorcycle accidents. This is more likely than proof that a dark visor caused an accident IMO.

I was sticking a Fog City to my visor but miscalculated the position and had to remove it again.
It knackered the visor (by accident). Does that count?? Razz

I crashed wearing this:

https://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w182/OllieePaul/IMG_0130.jpg.

The policeman who turnt up on scene first told my Dad to pick up my helmet and take it away so the rest wouldn't see it, as it could have affected my accident claims etc.

Thumbs Up.
