tzr 125 coil. problems?

right... bike runs but seriouly lacks power splutters a bit in 1st and 2nd but will rev right up to 10 000 rpm 3rnd rarly wantsto go past 7 000 rpm same in 4th 5-6 wont go over 6 000 rpm have once at a push down very big hill. it sounds when im riding it like its being restricted now i have noticed that ive got a bit of a dodgy coil/ ht lead will a bad coil cause tese kinds of problem cause it does sound like its missing and boggin at the same time i need to adjust mycarb defo runnin slightly rich but id rather run rich while shes a bit ill to be safe. any ideas peeps? cheers rick
p.s any1 no just how high these bikes should rev ive seen vids an they scream but they may be deristricted.

Same stator and pickups as the DT125, which are known to fail. It could well be that,
