Exhausts... again Rolling Eyes

(4 bikes, 3 with exhaust failures?! WTF!)

Ok, now I did the mayday ride yesterday and all was good until one downpipe decided to break at the manifold so that kind of has to be replaced. I am kicking myself so much for not buying a motad full system from egay for 100 quid... now I can't seem to find anything.

But Alexio kindly found this, which may or may not fit, but the downpipes seem to be the same shape. But I thought I'd check with the far more wise and knowledgeable BCF Thumbs Up

Will it fit my '92 GT550? Obviously the bore's have to be the same...

HELP ME BCF! I don't wanna stop riding bikes... again Rolling Eyes

Here's the current one...

BUMP

Does no one here know if the GT550 and GT750 have the same exhausts or what then? Karma

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

They're different.

Looking at the pipe it appears that the problem is basic neglect... How the fuck did it get like that????

Just replace it with a stainless system.

The Muzzy on my ZRX is 11 years/88,000 miles old & it looks like this:

Bad times!

And basic neglect yes, but not by me. I've had the bike for 2-3 weeks! Bought it for 200 quid.

And I would replace with a stainless, but that cheap set (link above I decided not to buy Rolling Eyes) and a new system costs around 300... 50% more than I bought the bike for Neutral

Le sigh.

It doesn't matter that it costs more than what you paid for the bike because right now the bike is merely garage art as it can't be used...
300quid is going to get you a system that will probably outlast the bike.

My new truck was free, but I'm still going to spend an easy $10K on it....

It's all a matter of priorities.. do you want to ride it or look at it? Wink

I suspect a pipe from a Z550, GPz550 etc etc would fit, whether a 750 one would fit i dont know.

The only difference *may* be in the bracket where it bolts to the bike as the arse end.

Thing is zrx i don't wanna spend loads! I'd rather get my hornet on the road. The gt is just to keep me on the road for now until i get the hornet sorted. Then i don't mind spending money on it.

And thanks to temechulus, i'll have a look once i've sobered up.

I've bought them, I assume I'll need to buy new exhaust gaskets?
