Route: Bocketts to Hindhead.
Attendees: Tatters, Philo, Adamski and Me.
Weather: Perfect.

Everyone arrived at Bocketts on time and we set of almost immediately - as it had been decided that myself and Philo were to 'man up' and not stop for smokes and chat so much.

Rode from Bocketts to the end of the sand gallops in one hit Shocked
Ground was just right, what with rain the day before - so a good steady pace.

Quick smoke and drink and then we set up to ride the remainder of Bocketts run with no stops and over to Ginsters Cafe (cheers for the stop off Joe Thumbs Up ).

Next was the Hindhead run - which none of us really knew and Tatters had left his GPS at home.
We found the main lanes (Sandy Lane and Whoops etc) without getting lost.
But also found a few more ??? Next time you are out Joe we will have to show you them .. strange little lanes, one a nasty rocky climb. I suspect we found the old route that used to lead to the tunnell, which we abandoned years ago. ???
Anyway, one cuthrough is show here .. and cuts out that horrible road section to the garage:

Not much to report .. so will post a few pics with captions:

Sand was DEEP and I rode it as poorly as ever.
So much so that when I finally got to the end, Tatters was making the 'ooooer Bocketts' hand sign.
Philo passing me in the sand:

No confrontations as such.
Horse riders were very friendly and appreciated us stopping/cutting engines. This guy even gave us a thumbs up.

Of course we had the usual ramblers shouting at us and telling us to slow down / we shouldnt be on the lanes.
oh! and I almost hit a dog (big red setter thing) which was running around loose on the sandy lane. Rolling Eyes

Philo almost had a big moment crossing a small river.
The picture unfortunately does not capture the full extent of this.. as you can only see him beginning to 'lose it'.
But he gassed it going through at about 20mph ... lost the rear end and ended up facing the wooden bridge at 'speed'.
Only by fluke did he scrape past in one piece.

Adamski seemed to be having a lot of fun. Throwing the bike about and taking 'unusual lines'.
It wasnt until he took his helmet off that we realised he was listening to some 'death thrash metal (?) ' on his iPod for the whole route:)

A good ride .. with perfect weather .. and with limited stops.
As usual at the end of the ride everyone was smiles and aches.
Doesnt Tatters look resplendent in orange Smile
It was like following a large fast satsuma all day)
