I bought a helmet, kind of rushed it?

I bought a helmet, an AGV S-4 SV, the girl who sold it too me was helping me pick it out since I don't have a clue about helmets, but I've got it home and am now worried its not road legal Sad

Its got an acu gold approved sticker on it, on the back, but nothing else like the ece thingy you need...

However when you go too https://sharp.direct.gov.uk/search/details/?id=4 it says that the helmet has got this, although it doesn't say if that helmet is the SV or not, if that makes any difference.

I went into the shop with virtually all the money I had, chose everything else, and saving for a decent helmet and now turns out it may not even be ok to use on the road, any clues?

It is EC-2205 approved.

CE marking isn't usually marked in the same way as the ACU badge- try looking on the chinstrap, or other fabric labels.

If in doubt, take it back- ask them to point out where the marking is. I'm not up on the marking regs, it could be that a certificate of conformity in the manual is enough.

Unless you've been sold a knock-off (in which case, hie thee to trading standards), I doubt there's an issue with it.

Aaah thanks guys! Although it doesn't directly say ece 22.05 I found on the chinstrap it does have

E11 (apparently UKs ece thingy?)

22r (presumably the 22)

then a dash and 05....

I'll get a pic of the label tomorrow, but it sure did scare me for a second :p

(And yes I did smudge that last bit, its just more numbers (: i'm one of those crazy careful about information on the interwebs, and don't want anyone registering my helmet, whatever good it may do them :p)

AFAIK any helmet that fits correctly and is fastened correctly is better than a helmet that doesnt fit and isnt fastened..

But personally i like to look for the ACU gold sticker for added peace of mind...

The E mark is always a bonus for staying on the right side of the law..
