so last nite, after having spoken to the guy on the phone about the bike - all seemed ok, i hired a van £40, filled it with diesel £80 and drove to manchester. 240 miles.

got there, bike looked ok ... paperwork all checked out ok ... and then he told me he cant find the key!. any where. was still looking when i arrived and kept looking for an hour after.

he had just moved premises and had put it somewhere safe - and cant remember where!!! why didnt he tell me this on the phone before i left for a 240 mile drive???

anyways, i really liked the bike, didnt fancy driving all way back without it and being £120 outta pocket for van an fuel for nothing an still knowing the bike was down there.

anyways ... we did a deal, he knocked £150 off the price, but if he finds the key and he said he d keep lookiing, then if i sent him £50 back, he wud send up the key.

but now, iv got the bike home, i really like, desperate to get out on it and ride it - but cant switch on ignition and cant open the fuel cap to refill it - altho its got a 1/4 tank it it jus now.

so what do i do now? ... leave the bike in my garage till he finds the key ... or whats the alternative? - i dont really wanna drill the locks out - an then maybe have to go get get new ignition barrell and fuel cap!.

You can get an auto locksmith to make a key for it.

Think it cost us about £60 to get two keys cut when taking the ignition barrel to an auto locksmith on a weekend to get a key cut a few years ago. They will come out to your house too.

as long as it doesnt have an immobiliser key system like honda H.I.S.S or something

hey rOb ...nah ... its a v basic bike, no immobiliser or even alarm - yet!
just needs a basic key - looks like i got someone comin next week to take the barrel out an take it somewhere to get a key made for it. -)
so hoping for some good news on it next week! -)
