360 help?

hey guys,
just bought another 360 after not having one for a while,
it's already been flashed.
how do i find out what version's on it?
what's the best way of playing back ups without being banned from live??
havn't connected it to live yet as wanted to make sure first, but i'd like to download a few things from the marketplace like trials etc..

2 ways, either dump the firmware and check it (best way for a definitive answer.), or play a copy of a newish game. if it plays fine, its either the unstealth firmwares or the new lite touch.

There is no definitive way for you to know if you have LT firmware on or not without dumping the drive.

What drive is it?

i've played the new fifa south africa, and splinter cell and GTA Liberty City upto now. they're newish arn't they?

just off to work now but will check what drive it is later on,

is it easy enough to dump the drive?

Yeh but LT firmware is the latest and safest to use online, you can get 1.61 firmware that will play all wave games, but it's not safe to use online.

just a quick note,
checked the drive, and it's the benQ one, has white wires when i took the face plate off and look through.

how exactly do i dump the drive?

just ordered one off ebay.
do i need a different sata card for each different drive?
or does that work with all the drives?

That will only work for BenQ and samsungs.

For liteons you'll also need a CK3 Probe + connectivity kit.

for hitachi's you'll need a VIA chipset. Thumbs Up
