Sonic academy music training, anyone use it or similar?

As above folks, its £30 a quarter for the full access package. I am looking for Logic 9 video training I can use to get to grips with music production.

Neil, any opinions on this?

Quite cheap but I don't know what their videos are like. You might want to do a 1 or 2 day short course on music technology/production if you want to be shown the ropes in a general sense. Look at local college prospectuses. It gives you a really good chance to get your hands on the gear and meet like minded people which could lead to interesting projects and such.

Or if funds are tight, self-teach with free sites like www.tweakheadz.com, ask questions on the many forums out there like www.logichelp.com and www.gearslutz.com (even gear manafacturers like Digidesign and M-Audio have forums too) and read magazines like Sound On Sound, although that may take half the fun out of it as you only tend to work on your own, unless you're lucky enough to have mates that are also into it. Oh and watch all the videos at SFLogicNinja's channel on YouTube!

There are standardised courses including BTEC and A-Level, as well as honours degrees in the field, if you want take it that far. Costs money though but you do get qualifications at the end of it.

Yeah I live in Aberdeen and we have nothing like a course or nightclass etc.

Aberdeen is supposed to be one of the most affluent cities in the UK but it has zero culture above drinking.
