Back in February I started to steep some cherries in vodka, left it with the fruit in for a few months in a large kilner jar in my wardrobe and finally decided to bottle and taste it today...

Recipe for those who care:

1l vodka
400g cherry
200g sugar

The spirit itself tastes slightly like almonds because I left the stones in but is actually quite smooth and sweet. It tasted as harsh as hell a few months ago.

The cherries though taste like pure vodka with only the slightest hint of sweetness. I made some cherry coke and finished what wouldn't fit in the jam jar in the picture (about 1 1/2 glasses full) and am slightly pissed from it already Thumbs Up .

Would recommend it and I'll be trying a different fruit next time Very Happy.

With a pound of sugar in there I'm not surprised it tastes sweet, still probably not much sugar compared to alcopops though I guess.

A friend was recently telling me he had steeped chillis in vodka, and he had some recently and it gives it a nice kick.

I think bcf is more about chillis than cherries, as when ariel hasnt mentioned chillis for a while, someone else will.

Skittles are for rotting chavbaby teeth, not putting in decent vodka (or maybe for putting in shite vodka to rot chav-adult teeth, then).

You don't look like a chav, Molly.

No no no you misunderstand me.

You can do the whole "dump bags of skittles" into a bottle of vodka. Or you could do it Newcastle style. some bar sells 2 pints of skittles, you get blue or red. Tastes exactly like skittles and you can't taste any alcohol but it's very very potent. I asked the girls how it's made but I got too drunk to remember the recipe

Laughing

An I is a well wikid chav init 'kat? So bangin' I is bout to bust out my burberry cap coz I gots swagga, boi betta know!

Hey hey less of the cherry bashing, I wanted some sloe gin but it is very expensive to buy and difficult/awkward to make in february. It is very sweet, but then it isn't supposed to be drunk by the pint (it is about 25-30% ABV afterall) and most of it will be mixed with something else anyway. I'm thinking mostly alcoholic cherry coke Very Happy .

Will try the chilli vodka, hadn't thought of that Thumbs Up .

I have tried skittles infusions and they are proper Sick btw Sad .

Parents have made sloe gin before and have had it from several other people, very sweet!

You should find a sloe tree so that you can harvest some and make your own slow gin next time round Thumbs Up

I'm more of a homemade damson gin type - largely cause I can get buckets of damsons for free, but also because it tastes VERY nice!

I have been eyeing up a sloe bush not far from me recently, I will go down and nab a load come sept/august - I have been drinking the Plymouth sloe gin though, it's amazing but costs £15 a bottle!

I have never tried damson gin, although I have heard good reviews Thumbs Up .

Skittles vodka.

For the suicidal. We did this, got a cheap bottled of Tesco's own brand vodka (gutrot.) poured a wee bit out, yucked in a value bag of skittles (green ones too, we're hardcore) then left it in the fridge for three days.

I have in the past strained it but didn't bother this time, sat round late at night (about 6 of us) with a pack of cards and played strip poker... I'm joking, we took a card of the top, if it was higher than a six you took a shot, lower; you got to pass.

I felt very unwell the following morning.

Thumbs Up

Yup, when I played it in Newcastle we used 2 decks.

When it came to the final row (5 shots per card) it turned out only 2 people had the other 7 cards. Somehow. And we were all puzzled as to why they hadn't got anyone to drink before!

Wel lthe fuckers gave me 5 cards and 2 to someone else.

Tell you now, 25 shots of a"punch" consisting of southern comfort, tequila, vodka, gin, malibu, some cheap coconut bitch drink and a little bit of orange juice is fucking potent. Shocked

Then I got "manned up" which is basically have a shot with a friend of only So Co. I nearly felt like throwing up Laughing

Good times Cool
