PostPosted: 19:11 - 26 Feb 2002    Post subject: Cheap Insurance!!!!???? Reply with quote

I thought it might be a good idea if we saw how much each of us pays for insurance to compare and choose the cheaper companies...

I have tried www.insurancequotes.org.uk lots of times but they refuse to add the NSR! Bastards! Mad

So if we put our info. and quotes up here we might be able to save each other some money. Gotta be worth a try?

So:

1 - Male/Female
2 - Points?
3 - Insurer
4 - Cover (TPO / TPFT / FC)
5 - No Claims
6 - Premium
7 - Excess
8 - Reg'n Year of bike
9 - Alarm, Datatag, etc.
10 - Kept Overnight...
11) Max Mileage

Add any tips / info. that might help i.e. Clubs giving discount

I'll bung mine on first just to show off. (Old git = Cheap Insurance) Very Happy

Chris

Hey Chills...technically I'm road legal (albeit with those nasty L-plate things...) but my bike won't be delivered until tomorrow afternoon...

I'll be on a Black NSR around the Filton/Horfield area...but you won't be seeing me until March 1st anyway Confused as I will need to wait for the new reg. to kick in... Rolling Eyes

I spent around 4 hours on the road for my CBT, which was useful, especially as they were "real" roads e.g. Gloucester/Cheltenham rd and the city centre...can't wait to revisit them on my NSR...

But I need to take it easy for the first 500-1000 miles to run the engine in...

This is getting totally OT...so I'd better stop and apologise before I type anymore!...Sorry everyone!

Mucho sorry but https://www.insurancequotes.org.uk/ HAVE finally accepted the NSR! Very Happy

I really appreciate you guys adding your detail here but it really would be best if we all bung the info on the above site. (Saves Korn the extra work)
The site is a bit of hassle (with e-mail confirmation codes) but if it gets us cheaper insurance....

The owner of the site only allowed the bike as long as he gets at least 10 quotes this week! So PLEASE add your insurance details. (I told him there are 71 NSR owners waiting to add their quotes!!!)

I've added a link to NSR125.com on his site too.

Thanx peeps

Chris

PS Dan - can anyone (not local) use that co. and if so, what's the phone no.?
PPS Tin - If you can ride in Bristol Centre and live, you can ride anywhere. See you on the roads in March!

I guess the theory is that as more people (LOTS MORE PLEASE) put their quotes on you can compare yours with theirs and see which companies would give you cheaper insurance. (And drop the expensive companies) Also it gives you leverage when haggling for cheaper insurance. I ALWAYS lie when getting quotes, saying I've been offered cheaper elsewhere and I always get the quotes way down.

Obviously the more people - the more it works. Look at the CBR600 section on the site. Loadsa people = loadsa comparisons.

I currently pay 'just' 878 F/C for my 01 GSXR750. I had quotes actually OVER 2,000!!!

G - Aren't you worried about theft? Yikes.
Viper - I'm touched. Thanx

I know the site isn't perfect - allowing for prov, TPO, etc but it should help us all. Shouldn't it??

Thanks anyway everyone doing it.

My NSR is a knackered NSR125, I decided the extra £250 for tpft wasn't worth it... It's not likley to get stolen at the mo as it's a *little* bent! I've got TPFT for my ZX6R though as well as Alarm & Imobilizer... so I should be okay.
