I'm having a bit of a moment and thinking of selling my Fireblade but have no idea what to get. One of the very few bikes that stand out is the 2002 on ZX-12R.

Problem i'm seeing with it is quite a few suggestions that it returns terrible fuel economy, is it true or just based on people who like to drag race at every set of lights? I mean every sports bike i've ever owned has given me 40mpg minimum except the CBR600RR which is an anomoly at about 30-35mpg. I want to use it for touring so crappy MPG is a big no.

Also what's it like to ride in comparison to other sportsbikes, low/high bars, pegs? I'm trying to find a dealer one to test ride but can't seem to find one at the moment.

Appreciate replies from current or ex-owners only please.

dads got one his opinion

fast. ok on fuel not the best getting mid 30's maby 40's depends on how you drive

he has the comfort pack with renthal bars and different pegs he loves it. also full ohlins.

confort wise seat is shite but he is a 16-17 stone bloke maby better for smaller lads. and its hell fo a lump of a bike to move by hand.

You could try out this one, and see what mpg you get out of it, as I think you get better mpg on bigger bikes than most folk.

There are a few on autotrader, that one is about 30miles from you.

I think some dealers have their own insurance so it wouldnt have to be on yours.

I seem to be a very economical rider, i can get 40mpg out of my SP1, and thats known to be the worst.

What about a Busa ?, kinda ugly but will probably return better mpg.

The only problem with those is they are more expensive than a 12, but if you get a good deal on one, i doubt it would lose value, consider it an investment Smile
