Can somebody talk me through every step of buying, registering and insuring a bike? Do you have to tell the DVLA or something, pretty confused about all this.

You find a bike you like, you make sure the V5 log book is in the name of the guy that's selling it to you. You give him some cash. He makes you fill out your details onto said V5, you keep the right hand side green section, he sends the left hand side sheet off to DVLA to tell them you now own the bike.

You then call/interweb around for insurance and purchase insurance for the bike.

What else do you need to know?
