hi all, i was doing a few bits to my bike yesterday and i was about to top up the expansion tank, but i noticed it was still cold after i'd been out for a run to the shop. i thought maybe it hadnt gone far enough to warm it up, so after my 20 mile trip to work today i felt it again and it was cold.
the rad is full, and the fan kicks in when it should. the temp gauge doesnt rise past the first mark unless im sat in traffic so i know the rad and coolant is doing its job, but i assumed that the fluid would get moved out the expansion tank and replaced with the hot stuff as it circulates?
any ideas if this is normal or not? i cant find any info anywhere!
cheers
dan

That bottle just collects coolant that passes through the rad cap if the bike gets very hot or you have been riding very fast. It will usually stay cold. If it ever gets hot all the time you probably have a problem.
