Typical. I had the starter motor replaced no more than a few weeks ago apparently they break really easily on NSR's. Well during my test yesterday morning it was failing to start first time and I got quite embarrassed and explained to the examiner that it sometimes does it. Luckily I got through my test. Last night me and Becki (My bezzie mate) were cruising the neighbourhood and far beyond and it was much worse so much so that it wouldnt start without being bump started by Becki or a bouncer (ha) how embarrassing I was very smug however when we pulled up outside a pub for a coke of course and the bouncer says very smugly ''And I take it you have a full liscence for that bike seeing as though you dont have L plates on'' I of course replied with yes ACTUALLY i passed this morning (Ha) so smug. Anyway this morning I wake my brother up early and he tried to bump start me down the street 3 times the engine would start but it would die again very quickly with the bike being cold. So it was off to work in a taxi at the last minute.
In one way I am so lucky because if it had totally gone a few hours earlier It would have been a nightmare and if it had gone the day before my test I also would have been horrible. But it is also a shame because I really enjoyed last night and want to make use of my bike now without L plates and a pillion. I love having a pillion it was great (other than Mr L on the busa shhh ) It actually felt weird when I took my friend home because I got so used to riding with her.
Luckily though I got my car this evening and took Mr L to the pub. I love it and I am not stuck for getting to and from work and Lucky's house. It just shows passing both tests in 6 days does have its benefits... ____________________ '' A better ride than bucephalus '' |

Me too...
I am thinking about ringing up the insurance company and asking how much it would be to get me insured for riding the busa. Now that would make the insurance for my bike and car together look cheap.
I hope me little bike gets fixed soon though I dont want it just sat cold in the garage over winter I want to at least be able to start it and take it out on the odd nice days we get. I miss it already I havent seen it for 2 days. I havent had a reason to go into the garage. Lucky please fix my bike....

OK ok enough already! I will fix it on the condition that you actually lift a cloth to the poor thing and clean it!
You can't get insured for Bucephalus. You are restricted to 33bhp for two years as I understand it.

Hi
Don't be so cruel. Restrict the Busa for he
Not got the wiring diagrams in front of me but from memory the NSR ignition system works off the battery. Probably worth sticking the battery on charge for a couple of hours (easy to get at, just under the seat) and see if it will start then. Possibly it isn't charging, resulting in difficulty turning the engine over and finally not running.
All the best

Ok, ok I promise to clean it and you can take it all apart and polish it. Just please get my bike fixed (i'll beg)
Kickstart, I hear what you are saying but the battery is quite new. The starter motor was replaced a few weeks ago and the guy who did it at 'breaking bikes' told me how easily they break. My bike has the same symptoms at the moment. But he also said to watch the battery because someting was odd about it, i cant quite remember what now so who knows. It might not be as bad as I think. I know for a fact that 'breaking bikes' who always end up getting mine back when something happens dont have any more starter motors in at the moment. He had 3 in before and he tried them all in my bike before he got one that was any good. I hope it wont take them long to order one for me.
As for the busa YES lets restrict it... ____________________ '' A better ride than bucephalus '' |

Or the gasket had leaked leading to lots of wather getting in.
And the fact the connector was only half on. and my battery was dead.
But the beast works now, Thanks Zak ____________________ Regards

my bike does that, ive had a new battery, everything works fine , but the starter, its like the battery is dead, the only time it will work off the starter is if you have the charger leads attached to the battery so its gettin constant power, does it with both batterys.
Its also a bugger to start a NSR from cold without the electric start, i just stick the bloody charger on my battery and start it lol.. try that see if it works.
Also try tapping the starter motor casing with a hammer, try not to get pissed off and beat the shit out of it like it did on my scooter, just tap it gently and hold the starter button in.
Or you may have a dodgy earth which is gonna be a real bitch to find ____________________ 1 baby motrax diamond indicator wanted |
