As the title really, when I fill it to the brink, it shows as half full (or empty), and when it's on nothing, I can go for ages (as I figured i've still got half a tank left).

My dad suggested there might be some fuel in the ball in the tank? Any ideas, and where can I get a new part if needed?

Fill up, reset trip meter, then when you hit reserve and fill up again check how many miles you have done on the trip meter. That will let you know how many miles you can travel between filling the tank.

Then whenever you fill up reset the trip meter Thumbs Up

I'm not sure on how to fix these, its normally beyond repair and you just have to fit a new one, the only way to find out is to remove it i'm afraid.

Only problem with that trip meter idea is that you have to press the button to start it again every time you start the bike, it doesn't pop up itself, and easily forgotten!

Not sure how to get in there, but I know the tank is a nightmare to take off on it's own... Suppose i'll have to have a play around...

Drain the tank first, find a nice big tub or run the fuel low locally so you can push it back, then it will be easy to remove yourself, plus when you remove the fuel sender it won't leak out all over you.
its pretty simple, just take your time, if you get at all stressed, make yourself a brew, cool off and try again.
