Hey all,

I'm not too savvy with how bike engines work etc etc etc...

My gk73a Gsxr 400 struggles to idle when warm. Could it be something simple like carb balancing or airbox issue?

Someone enlighten me! Smile

Very Happy

don't know if this problem was specific to GK76A's or all gsx-r 400's but..

on my bike (GK76A) there is a known problem with the O-Rings in the carbs, suzuki / mikuni / whoever made them (i forget) used crappy o-rings which deteriorate over time causing poor idling / rich running.

might be worth checking if this is the case for GK73 carbs...

i bought a kit off someone on 400greybike for £10 or so and replace all the o-rings and cleaned out my carbs, ended lots of my problems!

Suzuki mostly use Mikunis and they are known to suffer badly from age.

Replacement of the o-rings and gaskets will most likely be in order. Also the float needles will need looking at as well.
