irritating squeeky rubber noise....

hi all,

first time on my honda mtx 125 since last friday today,

went to petrol station, went to check tyre pressure and went back to my place to pump up tyres for free......... this went wrong as pump is crap so went back to petrol station to inflate tyres properly..........

whilst going to the petrol station i had about 12psi is it? in my back tyre but made it there fine and no visible damage to wheel.....


so all sorted went for a ride arround, about 3 miles back to my place i started hearing this rubbery squeaky noise when ever i am under 30mph... the slower i go the more i can hear it

it seems to be coming from mid to front end of my bike but can't see anything, if i am stood still and rattle the bike / rock suspension etc no noise just when moving :S




the only thing i can think it might be is my suspension rubber guard things rubbing against my front mudguard or the chain rubbing ever so slightly on a rubber strip that surrounds my swing arm but not certain :S


any help on how to get rid of the noise or what it might be causing it? the bikes never made the noise before today.

Check the rubbers the tank mounts on up near the headstock. I've had squeaking coming from those on more than one bike.

Well, give the tank a wiggle about and see if it squeaks first.

If you're still worried, whip it off and put a wee bit of vaseline on the rubbers and the pins they mount on.

went out on the bike again after giving the tank a wobble.......

same noise still Sad

think iel have to strip tank off and all fairings and give it all a propper clean,


how do i know if my bearings are making the noise / on their last legs?

i am not getting any wheel vibration or anything.
