... 'best dressed' award goes to the BCF team 'One small step-through'!

I believe one of the Coventry bikers' teams also got an award, I forget what; but weren't around to collect it.
Another pic for better detail of the bike:

Some videos and more pictures to come later (got over 6 hours total of video and over 8gb of pics!), as well as details of the next for others that want to come play. |

Hahaha was the helmets what Bendy was working on when I came to yours when we sorted out my exhaust?
Meant to ask her what she was doing to the helmet
I'm soooo up for the next one. Just working at the moment... May be able to book it off though. ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

It was good fun. Possibly the only kind of racing where you crash giggling and you're back on the bike and moving in 10 seconds.
Sore today though, and I seem to have lost half a stone.
Highlights were sliding around a particularly dusty corner holding onto someone else to stay uprightish, crashing on the same corner, feeling my kidneys breaking, watching a girl with an impressive rack walk up and down the pits a lot, wiping mud off a dipstick, watching G crash on the same corner 3 times in a row, winning something, using about 7 litre of fuel for 6 hours on track, and the feeling of peeling off my leathers at the end of the day.
Credit goes to Bendy for planning, making uniforms, decorating a C90 and generally making things happen. Additional credit goes to Marjay's Sarah for being our general purpose pit girl and supplying lots of cold drinks.
Looking forward to the next one. |

It was a good day, I have to say the best fun I've had for ages. More fun than a bike or car trackday, more fun than karting and minimoto... better than all of that.
The best part was, we didn't come anywhere near last and none of us are Rossi on a bike, but we could go along, have a laugh, try to ride an ill handling 1950's design quickly around a tight supermoto circuit and generally have a good day.
Plus, on top of all that to win an award for our creativity, it just put the crowning glory on an already cracking day.
Even the dust and the heat weren't that much of an issue for us! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade

So the £60/£100 is split between the team?
Sounds good to me! ____________________ '99 Hornet 600 , VFR 400 NC30 '92 , Kasawamasaki GT 550 , '98 Hornet 600

Yep - obviously there's going to be other costs; consumables for the bike such as handlebars, footpegs etc .
Think between two teams we used about 20l for petrol for a total riding time of thirteen hours or so! (There was a one hour practice too.)
Ta for the tarty pic Jay - can see my weight over the front, trying to tame the massive power! |

This looks amazing! You should have tried to get more people to come along. Someone force me to come to this next time please? ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.

Not a big hassle to get in to be fair - I suspect even if you didn't have a specific team with people you knew, you could still just ask if you could come watch - doubly so if you offered to be a lap counter/general helperer.
Will stick some details out for the next one we're doing (probably Benson) - but I have enough other to do to not be 'organising' loads of people . |

Great laugh, but my hands/writs/foreams/back and knees are shot to pieces.
Next time we need something with front suspension, every bump felt like I was slamming my palm against a wall

Twas a good day!
Glad to hear out team 'Coventry bikers 3' won an award! Shame i wasnt around to see it, we had to go off the A+E after the 2nd red flag. Said ped was only running that morning and lost its bodged exhaust within 30mins!
If theres any pics of a blue Honda Express with a blue rickman topbox, with a stupidly tall bloke in white and red leathers with a white Arai lid on, post um up! ____________________ Suzuki GT250 x7------- Fazer 600------CB250RS------Aprilia Rally 70----- Bandit 600

I think having ridden enduro courses recently (as well as the XC mountain bike race) probably did help as have done similar times in the saddle with a bit less breaks and probably harsher impacts.
I certainly was feeling it through my hands at the time still; over the particularly bumpy bit definitely as well as generally when I got off. Was a bit generally stiff today (quiet at the back, there) but no worse than other stuff.
However, I have already ensured that I will have a working telescopic fork'd bike for the next one - and hopefully with a bit more 'go' too ... hopefully have one with lots of travel and a good choice of tyres, but that's a bit more questionable.
Incidentally - it turns out we got 13th place, Luke - as they'd messed up the spreadsheet (then messed up the correction he sent out, but only us messed up for the second one.) Not bad for a completely stock bike I hope.
Definitely got some video of that bike in there evoboy - I might stick the whole thing up as a torrent or something so people can download it and trawl through it for the bits they want as there's *loads* of it. |

Bendy's quickly edited video can be found here: https://blip.tv/file/3661917
On board from Luke and I as well as a few hand held/tripod shots.
I reckon the top teams could easily still be within the rules - after all as stock a c90 is far from a high state of tune, seeing that the engine and suspension is basically a 1950s design - and even by those standards, not a performance design - there's plenty of easy improvements to be had!
We managed 194 laps in the re-evaluated results (promoting us to 13th place ) with a totally standard c90 (ok, I took the mirrors off and the foot pegs continually changed shape during the race ) - which was 25 laps under the winners' 219. We had a puncture which took a while to sort; so I reckon with better suspension and some mild work keeping the basic engine the same, it'd be quite easy to get near that without big bores or anything - though obviously lots of tweaking within the rules at least. |
