Whenever a moped goes past my house the sound on my freeview box goes off for a second or two. Confused Laughing

Not a problem as I live on a quiet street, but what is it about mopeds/small bikes that cause the interference when cars, vans ect don't.
I sometime get the same problem when the CH pump kicks in so I'm guessing its some kind of electrical interference Confused

Moving metal generates an EM field, I guess Moped engines must have the right frequency to interfere with your Freeview box! Laughing.

The spark plug being an RF spark transmitter and not well shielded by a bonnet/fairing/lump of engine? Edit: spark transmission is wideband and buggers with everything using radio waves.

Al these ^^^^^^^^ don't know what the fuck they are talking about. The chav moped rider is obviously going up and the down the street with a universal remote. Turning the volume up and down as he goes. Rolling Eyes

A fine wire could be stretched across the road at the exact height to neatly lop the head of these hooligans, while allowing the cars to pass safely underneath
(idea copyright viz letters page)

They don't have proper suppressors on their HT leads and probably could be made to fix it in an ideal world.

The unshielded spark in the two stroke engine is interfering with your reception. Happens to me too.

The digital signal is more susceptible to this kind of interference. Assuming you can't get proper supression put on the mopeds, you could look into replacing your aerial downlead with the sat-grade cable which has a better foil screen.

The moped is a distraction.

His mate's on the roof stealing your aerial.
