Boo! After playing far more Red Dead Redemption than can be healthy, my PS3 (fat model) is overheating like a mofo.
The fans kick in at full power about 20 minutes into playing and stay on until I turn it off (and they are bloody loud!) When I played for a quick hour this afternoon I had just pulled off a cool headshot on a cowboy stealing someone's wagon when the console locked up and shutdown.
I've done some Googling and made sure there's no dust in the vents, put it on a stand so it's raised and away from anything blocking the airflow on all sides but it's still doing the same.
Anyone else had any problems with their PS3 and got any tips? It's only just started happening so I assume it's not helped by the warm weather (my central heating says it's 26 degrees in my living room).
Are any game shops are still doing fat PS3 trade ins (plus a few quid) for a slim one and how much do they test the one you bring in? If it's just for a few minutes then I should be able to get away with it. |

Make an air-conditioned box for it. ____________________ Go back to bed - You have no rights - "Streetfighters ~ Mainstream motorcycling's crackwhore sister." |
