It is a hot day

Tank is empty

You got fill up whilst sitting on the bike and your balls get that feeling of nice cold ice cold fresh petrol rushing around your tank.

Ball refresh ftw

I managed to pour methanol over my nuts in a bad refueling incident recently. They peeled like a bald man's head after a week in Benedorm.

What a random topic!

I always get off my bike when I fuel it, although I will have to rethink this as I'm obviously missing out, hehe.

I've never filled up while sitting on a bike. What kind of madness is that? Laughing

I find it is easier to fill the bike if your sat on it. Having the bike vertical means I can squeeze that little more in... I dunno if anyone else does it but spend most of my time squeezing the last liter and a bit into my tank. I prefer having that little bit longer before I turn onto reserve. Thumbs Up

Yeah I only noticed this sometime last year when I stayed sat on the bike, I usually get off to fill as I think most people think you’re gonna ride off.

I always sit on the bike and refuel. It's just easier. I've only been told to get off the bike once.

You can squeeze a wee bit more in this way. Wink

I sit on my bike when I'm re-fueling, but I don't keep the bike vertical. I sit on it because I'm lazy. Why stand up when I have a seat? Laughing

Off the bike.
Bike on centre stand.
Knob of pump shoved into tank orifice (Which has had a 'breather' port drilled into it near the top of the stupid 3" filler neck insert.)

As the tank gets to bubbling rock the machine on the centre stand to expel air. Repeat as necessary until no more air.

This will get more fuel in to the tank than sitting on it.

Sitting on the bike whilst refuelling is one of the most stupid things you can do on a motorbike.

I keep my helmet on too. For reasons of safety as in a flare-up the helmet will protect my face and hair. Well you see the guys a F1 doing it.

My bike has no centre stand and I have no reason to add one. When sitting on the bike I also wiggle it to get rid of the air. I fail to see why sitting on the bike and refueling is the most stupid thing you can do on a motorbike.

As Charlie.

Neither of my bikes have a centre stand.

I don't see your logic behind it being one of the most stupid things you can do on a motorcycle? I'd rank front brake cranked over as one of the most stupid things, but not sitting on it whilst refuelling. Rolling Eyes.

well I only sit on the bike to refuel if its one of those chip and pin pumps. If I have to pay at the counter then I stick it on the side stand and then fill up as i've got to get off anyway

Surely this is way more dangerous than sitting on it:

Either you're an idiot or there's something wrong with your petrol tank.
