CBR 125 Not starting after rain

Even the slightest bit of rain when the bike is sitting out seems to stop the bike from starting for some reason.

When it is dry it will start without the choke no problem, but is draining the battery by the time i get it going in the wet.

Glad it has been dry for the last few days cos its a pain in the ass having to recharge the battery.

CBR125 batteries are notoriously bad at keeping their charge. I'm going to hazard a guess that when it's raining you don't go out as often/as long and the battery doesn't get charged as much as a longer/more regular summer ride.

Whack it on charge, or better yet trickle-charge and see how it goes.

Even a day or two of non-use can make it a swine to start. IF you've installed an alarm disconnect that too.

my CBR never had an issue with starting, was an 06 on the original battery still in 08 and hadnt been charged on a charger, just run around for an hour or 2 a day!

if you mean rain makes it cut out, then water is getting to the electrics, but if you mean the cold/wet and its just hard to start then id hazard a guess at spark plugs and battery?

just put the bike on the road two weeks ago, it had new spark plug, new battery, oil and the rest ..... just it cant seem to figure it out what the problem is !

Does it run ok in the wet? Has it done this since the service?

As a short term fix spray wd40 or get a cover.

Have a quick check that the sparkplug lead is connected properly. There should be a resistance when you pull a plug cap off the plug.
Whist the lead is off and the engine cold see if the sparkplug will unscew by hand...yer never know.
Other end of the lead goes into a coil. Check it's screwed in firmly.
Check the lead for damage....splits..frays.

Get a cover and use vaseline around the battery terminals to stop the water getting in. That way they stay water-tight and then the cover will stop other electrical points getting damp.
