Hagon in price shocker

What the hell is going on here? I'm after a replacement shock for the Kwak and I've been advised to get a Hagon shock.

Hagon themselves give me a price of £286 inc. VAT&delivery

Busters Accessories offer me one for £225 inc. VAT&delivery

WTF?? I would have thought buying direct would be cheaper but it's clearly not. Is this the norm?

BTW any more decent brands of shock i should try apart from Hagon? Please don't say Ohlins as I have no money as it is Razz

WP suspension is good and dont cost as much as Ohlins. Bloke off the vtr1000 forum got one for his storm and says its awesome.

I've heard loads of good things about the WP range they sound just as good or even better than Ohlins.

I think that they only make OEM shocks, and since they're mainly owned by Honda... Rolling Eyes

As WP - yes, they are tasty items, but they also have a tasty price tag. Certainly Ohlins price tag area. I think that the latest Superbike lists a few aftermarket shock manufacturers.

AFAIK Hagon are extremely good, better than Maxton for some things apparently.
The obviously expensive shocks are WP, Penske, Ohlins and Hyperpro.
The only others that I know that are good quality and a good price are Hagon. Maxton are just a ripoff apparently.

Most places will be more expensive or RRP from the factory. If they sell below the RRP their distributers won't be to happy and probably wouldn't bother trying to sell them, because their customers will just go straight to the factory.

Places like busters tend to have low overheads so can pass on some of the savings them make from buying in bulk, but still make some profit.
