reading a thread earier about price of fuel got me thinking has any1 converted a bike to Lpg? and if so how does it affect performance?

I saw a post on here from someone (Sickpup, I think) about the possibility of converting a bike to run LPG. It should be fairly easily possible, though it's probably more complicated than it appears. If not, surely every vehicle in the country would be running an LPG converted motor Laughing

60p a litre, though - bugger me, it would be like 1997 again Cool

My dad, without any specialist knowledege, happily converted one of our petrol gennys to propane without any hassle.

Obviously a generator engine is a bit simplistic as it only operates within a narrow engine speed range, but Landies often get LPG'd.

Not sure if there is much gain overall though, someone would need to do the math as obviously a litre of LPG gets you significantly shorter range than a litre of petrol.

Most of the tuk-tuk's I saw in SE Asia were converted to LPG and they normally just use Vespa engines.
Surely the main problem would be carrying the cylinder on a motorbike.
